Smoked Stuffers
Prepare the smoker for cooking. Allow the bird to warm before putting in the smoker or you will dramatically increase the cooking time (out of fridge 1 hour). Rinse cavity and sprinkle inside and out with lemon pepper. Stuff bird with apple slices. Tie off legs. Place in the smoker and cook at 200 to 225 degrees. After 6 hours bird should be checked - test with meat thermometer - they usually require about 1 1/2 hours per pound. |
