Nat and Vin's Dump Cake

From our good friends, Natalie and Vin, comes this recipe for a classic favorite.  When time is short, and you need a party dessert, put aside your purist tendencies and give this a try.  It's easy to prepare, and a serious party pleaser.  Why "dump" cake?  Well, because you just kinda dump it all together.

1-16 ounce can crushed pineapple (drained)
1 can cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix
½ cup your favorite chopped nuts (unsalted, or course)
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 350°.

Coat a 9"x13" baking pan with cooking spray and dump in the ingredients in the order given.  Cut butter into pats onto the top.  Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until top is golden brown.  This is great served with whipped cream.
