Lobster Dip

Of all places to find a great recipe! This one comes from a recipe book that was included with a Hoover crepe pan, but it really is terrific. I’ve made a couple of small changes, mostly in the amounts of certain ingredients used. It is supposed to be served hot, with crackers. But it is also very good chilled.

8 ounces cream cheese
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 clove garlic, pressed
½ teaspoon granulated onion
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ teaspoon white pepper
3 tablespoons sauterne or dry white wine
½ pound lobster meat (or crab, or even the imitation crab)

Melt the cream cheese in a fry pan over low heat, stirring constantly. Blend in remaining ingredients except for the lobster. Simmer for a few minutes to heat through. Fold in the lobster or crab meat and heat an additional minute or two. Serve with crackers (it’s a little heavy for chips).
