Hoisen and Honey Sauce

This sweet and sticky sauce from the Food Network Kitchen is wonderfully delicious and simple to prepare.  Heat it and allow it to thicken in a saucepan and serve it over Basmati rice, or pour it over some chicken thighs in a slow cooker and cook it for 4 hours on low and it will put a smile on everyones face..

Ingredients

¼ cup hoisen sauce
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
½  teaspoon dried chile flakes(optional)

Whisk together all ingreients and add to a saucepan and simmer until the sauce has thickned.  This is also good to use over chicken or pork in a slow cooker.  If the sauce requires additional thickening then use a cornstarch slurry.
