Carol's Swedish Apple Pie

A delicious, easy to prepare delight. Carol discovered this recipe at a community club get-together some years ago (prepared by our friend Renee).  She has made some innovative modifications, and it has become a family favorite.

10 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
batter
1½ cups melted butter or margarine
2 cups flour
1½ cups sugar
2 large eggs
½ cup finely chopped nuts of your choice
crunch topping
¼ pound melted butter
½ cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Layer apples in 13"x9" ungreased pan and sprinkle the cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg over the apples. Mix the batter and pour over apples sprinkling the nuts over the top. Mix the crunchy topping and pour over the apple mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes.
