Air Fryer Chicken Tenders The buttermilk marinade really kicks up the flavor of these chicken tenders, and the air fryer makes them a breeze to prepare.
Preheat your oven to 200o Put the vinegar (or lemon juice) into a one cup measuring cup and fill to the one cup mark with milk, Stir to combine and let sit for 10 minutes while the milk thickens a bit. Congratulations! You have just made homemade buttermilk. Combine the buttermilk, Worcestershire sauce and the paprika into a large resealable plastic bag. Add the tenders making sure they are all coated with the milk. Seal the bag, place it in a bowl and allow it to marinate for one hour at room temperature. While marinating mix together the panko, Parmesan, olive oil and one teaspoon of salt in a shallow baking dish or pie plate. After the tenders have finished marinating prep the air fryer by preheating to a temperature of 390o.Remove one piece of chicken at a time from the marinade shaking off any excess buttermilk. Place the tenders in the bowl of panko pressing down to ensure the panko adheres. Repeat with other side of the tender until it is covered with panko all over. Gently shake the tender to remove any excess panko and place it in the air fryer basket. Repeat with enough of the tenders to fill the fryer basket making sure none of them is touching. Cook until the tenders are a golden brown and cooked through, about 7 minutes per side turning to complete the cooking. Place the tenders in the warm oven while cooking the remaining tenders. Notes:
